Who am I ?
Hello! my name is Nathan Bowick and I am a 3rd year University of the Fraser Valley Student. I am majoring in History & minoring in Kinesiology. My aspirations are to become a teacher and one day a Principal. I have a passion for teaching, swimming, fitness, and photography. Since I was young I have always loved to hike, play basketball and explore beautiful British Columbia. In the last few years I have worked as a Shipper/Receiver and as a Lifeguard. Through my passions I have learned that teaching is what I want for my future.
What lead me to this point?
Since I was young I have always loved to help others. I have been apart of multiple leadership groups inside and outside of school. In high school I learned that teaching was my true passion through my time in leadership, being a peer tutor and working on my WSI (Water Safety Instructor). I have worked with the Langley School District to implement middle schools and traveled across Canada for leadership seminars. My love to help other and work with students has helped me decide that teaching is what I want to do.
What am I doing now?
These last few years of University I have been trying to make my dreams a reality. I have been volunteering at Langley Secondary couching Basketball and working in classrooms to gain knowledge and experience for my future self. I have also been working as a lifeguard and keeping up with my first aid training. Throughout University I have been working to get above average grades and explore different passions that I believe will help me become a well rounded student for my admission into the PDP.
What Happens Next?
With my PDP just around the corner I hope to continue my volunteering, working and education to build a well rounded portfolio. With my entrance into the PDP I hope to excel throughout the program and one day get a full time position as a teacher.
